SCooBY

Meet SCooBY, the Super Cool Baseball Yeeter! Scooby is our first official robot! We originally built SCooBY to throw the first pitch at a Reno Aces baseball game. After roughly a month or prototyping and a busy week of building our final design, SCooBY was born. At full power, SCooBY throws a baseball about 110 feet! It uses an old tank drive base - kindly donated by FIRST Nevada - and a wooden frame to hold the actual mechanism. Two NEO motors each spin a 9.5in custom 3D printed wheel while a servo kicks the baseball forward, launching it out at around 50mph. SCooBY will become our outreach bot and will be modified to also throw tennis balls!
